The Marine Corps Recruiters were on campus today. (They have a nice website too - but too much Flash for my taste)....anyway, the table they set up in the courtyard was encircled by young ladies. The Marines must have enjoyed it I'm sure. I just thought it was funny to see so many girls obviously flirting with Marines. Oh, how ladies love a man in uniform.....

Of course, if the "Supermodel Corps Recruiters" were on campus today, you can bet a lot of young men would encircle them as well. So I guess I can't judge......

Weekend at Kent's

The Fr. and Mrs. Boydston are out of town for a week, so I strongly suggest to all my readers that we take some liberties with Rev. Fr. Boydston's absence and have a shindig with Kent and Betsy at their house. The ayes have it. Motion passed.

Where have I been for the past 5 days? I can barely remember myself. Or spell, for that matter.

Went to Red Lobster today. It's been a long time
since I had Lobster, or crab, or shrimp scampi - so
I had them all on the "Ultimate Platter" or something
like that. It was terrible. About halfway through the
Lobster tail I realized that I was basically eating the
large intestines of a very large bug. Not a pleasant thought.
The butter sauce was also funky....tasted like a thimble of
butter with 2 pounds of salt thrown in for good measure.

Note to self: Avoid Red Lobster in future. Or just get the steak.

Oh yeah....

We also "invented" the Evangelical Covenant Church, so I guess we can't be all bad.

But Pastor Dan Whitmarsh, who, as far as I can tell, is descended from Peeps - is not Swedish at all. Maybe he should pay a Non-Swedish Tax or something.
More about Vikings....

I'm eating a Danish right now. A raspberry Danish. It's sooooooooo gooooood.

Say what you will about Scandinavians.....yes, we may be emotionless, cold hearted, legalistic, alcoholic, socalistic, depressing, sex obsessed perverts - but hey, we have great pastries!!!

And great furniture too!!

I went to borders tonight and bought "Hrafnkel's Saga" from Penguin Classics. It's a collection of Viking stories from the middle ages. I think it should be intresting. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Today at work an elderly gentlemen wanted me to photocopy some documents he was mailing to Switzerland. Esentally, the documents were from a "prize clearinghouse" promising him a

This isn't the first time that I've seen old folks here suckered into a scam. Whenever you try to tell them that their money is being stolen - they look indignant. They simply can't imagine why someone would want to set up a fake "Prize Drawing" just to get people's money. That's illegal, after all. Well, no duh.

I hate the fact that there are so many people in this world who prey....who FEED .... off the helpless and the innocent. They would be wise to stop....because God will not be mocked.

I've been watching "Sleeper" - a Woody Allen flick - off and on tonight. Now I remember why I don't like Woody Allen movies. Or Woody Allen. The slapstick comedy is funny for about 10 minutes, then it just gets old. At the end of the movie, Woody Allen says that he only believes in "Death and Sex", which - ironically - is an accurate forshadowing of his later life. "Sleeper" put me to sleep.

Went to lunch at Angilini's today. It was Grrrrrrrreat! Huge portions too. I had the Veal Parmigania. It's been a long time since I had such good Italian food - and for only 12 bucks too. Not bad at all.

When they came for the nutjobs, I said nothing, because I was
not a nutjob

School was interesting today. It was
intresting because I learned something today that I've never heard before.

the current Administration in the White House is actually a "Cabal" and Arnold Schwartznigger
is their puppet. The recall itself is actually a plan hatched by racists at the very
highest level of government - a racist recall to further oppress the oppressed peoples
of California. Also, the Bush Administration is slowly begining to "parallel" a Facist

You could have knocked me over with a feather. Imagine my Political
Science teacher not telling me that we live in a Facist dictatorship! The nerve! And how
quickly it came upon us too! Why, just 3 years ago that blackhearted brigand Bush stole
the election from poor Mr. Gore - and ever since then things have been speeding downhill.
Why, Bush is so bad that the terrorists blew up the world trade center just because he
didn't sign the Kyoto Accords. That's why all those people in France died you know, because
Bush didn't fix the hole in the ozone layer. What a bastard. Well, that's what I gleaned after
leaving Psychology class today. Let me explain.

there was a small crowd outside
the classroom building, manning display tables and handing out leaflets. I didn't even notice
them until one of the kids (an attractive young lady about my age) walked up to me and
told me the aforementioned political screed. After she told me about the "Cabal", I told her
that I liked the Cabal in the White House. I thought it was the best Cabal we've had in years.
She looked shocked, as if human beings were incapable of such thoughts. Obviously I was pulling
her leg, but she persisted. So as I was walking away she shouted at me about how Bush
is becoming a facist dictator. "Yeah, isn't it great?!?" I yelled back. I smiled and
continued on my way.

Obviously, I dont think Facism is great. But I couldn't help
but poke fun at someone so young and so silly.

Something else did catch my eye though,
and that was the orginization sponsoring the "protestors".... Lyndon LaRouche for President. If this name dosent set off any alarm bells in your head, it should. If you were to ask any of those impressionable young folks "what side of the political spectrum does Lyndon LaRouche stand on?" - they would undoubetdly say "liberal", and they would say so with great approval. The problem is: LaRouche really dosen't fit into the mold of a modern, progressive liberal like all the kids think that he is.

Most young activists are drawn to LaRouche because of his economic viewpoints. He is deeply critical of globalization and of "financial markets" in general. He's against banking, the stock market, loans, etc. Sounds like a socalist, right? Well, kinda.....more like a National Socalist.....if you catch my drift. Read on. ......

You see, he's against "Financial Markets" and "Banks" - but sometimes he hints that he's also against Bankers as well. I suppose it makes sense. In his mind, Financial systems and banks oppress people and keep them from truly prospering. The Bankers suck money like vampires out of poor folk like us, meanwhile reaping the rewards of their usury and lending. So, whats the problem here? Oh, not much. It's just that in LaRouche's World, most Bankers happen to be Jewish, thats all. Or British Jews, or Jews who pretend to be European Royal Family. It's kinda hard to explain, because it seems as if Mr. LaRouche dosen't know exactly what he believes either. But it usually involves Jews and European Monarchs controlling the world.

Of course, he usually dosen't assault you with his anti-semetic views on the first page of his website, but it's an open secret that LaRouche considers Jews to be the "Cabal" (remember that word?) that rule the world. Here are some choice quotes from Double L himself:

"Judaism is not a true religion, but only a half-religion, a curious appendage and sub-species of Christianity."
"Judaism is ideological abstraction of the secular life of Christianity's Jew, the Roman merchant-userer who had not yet evolved to the state of Papal enlightenment, a half-Christian, who had not developed a Christian conscience."

"Judaism is the religion of a caste of subjects of Christianity, entirely molded by ingenious rabbis to fit into the ideological and secular life of Christianity. In short, a self- sustaining Judaism never existed and never could exist. As for Jewish culture otherwise, it is merely the residue left to the Jewish home after everything saleable has been marketed to the Goyim."

You can read the rest right here

Also click here for a fellow college student who had a similar encounter with "LaRouchites".

Sad, but true, there are many wackos in the world, and there always will be. Even here in little Turlock.

Found this at Touchstone:

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht frist and lsat ltteer are in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by it slef but the wrod as a wlohe.

It's true! For me, anyway.

I pray these people will be okay. It bothers me that there are so many nutjobs in this world.

Everybody go check out The Dan Show (right column) for some heartfelt musings on the state of sports in Seattle, observations on how no man is an island (especially when you are stuck behind a slow driver) and finally, the secret recipe to Soap and the meaning of Rabbi Hillel Jesus God the Father are One in Light. Make sense? It will. Kinda.
Monday, September 15, 2003

Since my two spiritual
leaders (see DAN and BRAD, right column) are airing
their opinions on the recent Isreli ultimatum, I think I
will do the same.

Gosh, where should I begin?

I've been thinking about this all day. What is the answer
to such an insane situation? Firstly, I agree with Dan
and Brad that killing Arafat isnt going to do any good. Israel
has made a policy of killing terrorist leaders without warning for
some time now. Recall how they use Apache helicopters to blow up
terrorists while they are driving around town - usually among
civilians and innocent bystanders. This is not to say that Palestinian leaders
are innocent or victims by any means. I have no doubt that if some
of Arafat's men got their hands on Apache helicopters they would
have a bloodbath in downtown Tel Aviv.

Needless to say, if
the Palestinians were to follow a course of non-violence - to use the
techniques of Martin Luther King and Ghandi - the Israelis would be
shamed into ending the violence. Of course, that's not likely to happen.
The Palestinian mentality is one of "wounded pride", they feel as if they
must avenge their stolen honor by killing as many Israelis as possible.
Maybe all the old theologians are right when they said that Pride is the
single deadliest sin. It is Satan's sin du jour, after all.

nothing is going to happen until both sides can shed their pride and make peace.
"Targeted Strikes" (assinations) arent going to do it. "Martyrdom Operations" (suicide bombings)
arent going to do it either.

In the end, Christ is the only one
who can calm the hearts of those people and bring peace to the region. Christ weeps at
all the violence in that land, and not just the Palestinian violence. Believe it or not,
Christ weeps for the suicide bombers as well as his victims. Most Christians would
find that difficult to swallow....

Anyway, it's 11:00pm and my head is full of
oatmeal, so if the preceeding rant was a little "disjointed", sorry.

Good night.
Goat Cheese & Meatball!

I went to Vito's today for lunch. I had Goat Cheese & Meatball pizza. I love goat cheese, I also love Meatballs. What more could I possibly ask for? So yes, it was Delicious with a capital "De". If any of my out-of-town readers ever visit Turlock, don't leave without going to Vitos. You won't be dissapointed. You will, however, leave with a much lighter wallet.

"I don't care who you have sex with" - some guy

"I took a bullet for the First Amendment - Larry Flynt

"Vote NO on the racist recall and the racist racists who sponsored this racistly racist recall!" - about HALF of the canidates

I agree with Dan regarding our upcoming election. After reading through the canidate statments, I can't help but feel that we would be better off without ANY of these jokers in power. Now I know how Libertarians feel.

The only person I can think who is worth voting for is Pastor Brad Boydston, of the Evangelical Covenant Church. He's Evganelical, which means that he will have the moral authority to stand up to "The Sin Lobby" (homosexual "rights", legalize marijuana, etc), while being able to support radical help for the poor and the oppressed. Pastor Brad will bring a truly Biblical form of Government to Sacramento. Therefore, I will back his canidacy to the hilt.

Now, if only we could get him to run......

Until next year

Sept. 11th, 2003 ended just a few moments ago, but it will always live on among us. As long as my generation lives, the memories and heroism of the people who died will live on as well.

At this moment, there are many men and women bravely risking their lives to protect us as we sleep. Remember them in your prayers tonight, for their job is thankless, but terribly nessecary.

Tonight, the Home Invasion Gang is behind bars, terrorists around the world are scattered and impotent, and last but certianly not least, my family is here - with me - in my house tonight. Safe and sound. I have the Lord to thank for all these blessings.

I think I will sleep easy tonight.

Most Extreme Elimination Challenge is side-bustingly hilarious. My only complaint is that they don't have a "MEEC" channel yet - where they show MEEC 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with watching some Japanese people beat the druthers out of themselves! Really!

You know, I almost forgot that today was Sept. 11th. Of course I didnt forget, but I almost did. I had to remind myself several times today that today really is THE day. It feels like it happened yesterday, but also a million years ago......strange, isn't it?

As Dan said:"I was going to say Happy September 11th, but I don't think that's the correct way to say it."

Very true. Maybe the best thing to say is nothing at all, and simply take the day as yet another day in life - a day that the Lord gives you, a day to breathe, to walk, to take in the sunset, a day to eat dinner. A day to give thanks for the things we take for granted.

Today the people of Turlock breathe a collective sigh of relief.

The Home Invasion Gang has been caught, and it appears their reign of terror is over. I personally know some people who were victimized, and quite frankly, I hope they lock up those bastards and throw away the key. The amount of pain and trauma that comes with a Home Invasion robbery is too great for words. My friends will be suffering and recovering for a long, long time.

And for what? FOR WHAT? So some street punks could have some extra money? Because their too lazy or too stupid to get real jobs, and real lives? So they think that they can make a living my terrorizing families and communities?

It makes no sense, but then again, evil rarely does.

Ok, now that I've calmed down a little, here's what I really think. There are consequences to everything - both big and (sadly) "little" sins alike. We must all own up to the consequences and face the music eventually. I do believe they should be punished, and harshly, but I also believe in extending the grace of Jesus Christ to them. If I could say something to these people, despite all the pain and suffering they have put my friends through, despite the horror and fear they have put in my heart, I would tell them that God still loves them - and He is willing to forgive them, and bring them into His family, if only they would repent.

Too simplistic? Maybe. Sounds like old fashioned Billy-Graham-Altar-Call-Fundamentalist stuff to me!

But it's true. I hope and pray that those people, those children of God, will come to know Him in a Saving way, and turn their lives around.

Thats all.

I have no doubt that the vigilant and dedicated IT staffers at will blow this spammer right out of the internet.

Or not.
Shame on me!

Well, I sent a forward to the abuse dept. at, but I doubt anything will come of that.

In any event, I was wrong! I did a little IP sniffing, courtesey Mr. Sam Spade, and I found the following contact info on the email:

So, obviously it did originate in Nigeria....but why then did they use a Italian email address? Why list your address as South Africa? Who knows? Who cares? I mean, really, how can we possibly understand the mind of someone who sends out emails like that....

but if you want, by all means, give Mr. Okwunakwe a call and let him know one of his customers is sending out spam. I'm sure he'll be surprised.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I am happy to say that I have recieved my first piece of

Strangely enough, the spammer claims to be from South Africa, rather than Nigeria. Maybe the spammer figures that if he calls himself "south african", us ignorant Americans will think "Gosh, he isn't Nigerian, so maybe this is legit." Spammers arent really known for their intelligence anyway.

For your amusement, here is the Spam in all its glory:

Strange how such a wealthy unnamed widow would want me, Mr. Karl Naslund, to help her get the money out of South Africa - for a %20 fee no less - when I'm sure a company like Vanguard or Fidelity would be MORE than happy to do it for her, at much less than a %20 fee.

By the way, "" is apparently an Italian ISP, but knowing spammers, it was probably spoofed. I'll do some poking around and see what I can find....

Oh well. I look forward to more Pan-African Money Transfer Spam.

SALT and Light

Hey everybody, I'm back from SALT. For those of you who dont know, SALT is like a Christian weekend camp for youth leaders. I had a pretty good time, and overall, I think we all did. Except the guy who got arrested, that is. But dont worry, he's okay. For more information on how SALT went, click on THE DAN SHOW! in the right hand column to read more about our expiriences - from the point of view of my Youth Pastor, that is.
